Std one perfectly good; VTA one's at the very least get annoying and can cause running issues. I even get a bit of the "Woosh" sound that some people seem to like using the std dump valve; much quieter than with a VTA though, so it's a nice reminder of the forced induction process rather than an attention getting PITA.

If you must go with an aftermarket one, Forge seem to be about the best suited.

Turbosmart are also apparently good and they are adjustable.

I have turbosmart, it is as the creature comforts say 'turn off and onable'!!!

I believe they now do one which is in car adjustable so you never have to look at the oily go go thingy!!!

Agreed. I get quite a good sound from my Forge recirculating DV

Of the Turbosmart range
Which is the one to get?
On Demon Tweeks there are 4 to choose from which are Subaru specific
Dual Port, Recirculating, Supersonic and Vee Port
Cheers

I know that Dump Valves are a highly emotive subject on SN.

However, I've asked ( in person) some Scooby enthusiasts and, say, the recirculating DV is not as responsive as the atmospheric one.

It dumps it outside the Turbo housing Unit and makes the exchange quicker and more resposive.

It's not about the Whoosh.

Please tell me I'm right, after a lot of thought, I'm having one done Friday!1
