Default bit of help with car valuation please.

Please note my car is not for sale, I'm just trying to get a rough estimate - both for part-ex & private sale to help plan a future purchase.

Auto-trader recon's anywhere between 5-8k?

Wagon STI V-Limited (84 of 500) facelift
Blue
1997 "P reg"
70k
Standard apart from 3 pod gauges
Engine rebuild @ 68000 (fully documented)

I didn't know that was your car, I see that quite often on Dawes Hill lane in Wycombe

What STI goodies does it have? I'm thinking wagons weren't graced with DCCD?

I would have thought it was 5K+ as its an STI. If it were just a turbo then yes it won't be worth much.

I was hoping it was valued at about 6?

This era of STI's didn't have DCCD - just lots of horses (as it's a JDM)

My £3,995 was based on the fact that I traded in a P reg UK MY97 for £5.5k and that was 3.5 years ago! And that was a 4 door which normally go for more than wagons.

Ah - That wasn't an STI - which is going to up the price - and you traded it, which is going to lower the price compared to a private sale.

I would put it up for £5.5K - depending on how quickly I wanted to sell it - £6K if I wasn't in a rush.

£4.5K trade in.

That sounds more like what I was expecting.
