import timing out
had car for 4 months never noticed a problem friends who have scoobs before said it felt fast,
anyway had cambelt and waterpump etc done and when collected was told the crank was out and top left intake cam was out aswell, unsure whether this was intentionally or if belt had jumped, was told engine was standard. feels the same to drive as before.
anyone seen anything like it before?

Yes. When untensioned, belt and pulleys can apprear to line up perfectly with the lines and dots. But when putting on the tensioner it can show up as being a notch out on one of the cams.
You can have the belt one tooth out and you wouldn't notice any major difference in performance.
However if it was more than one cam and in the wrong direction, then it would run a bit lumpy and have a noticeable loss in power....mainly off-boost when the engine has a harder time getting gasses in/out if the cylinders.
