They don't make things like they used to....
is it just me or do manufactuers fail to produced goods to suitable standards these days.....not just cars but everything.... it's starting to do my head in!!!!
....seems like I'm taking everything back that I buy because it fails due to poor workmanship.
in the last 6 months I've bought two new cars and rejected them due to either mechanical or structural defects.
queue the saying "they don't make 'em like they used to"

But it seems that a lot of things these days are only available in sub-standard spec. I would sooner spend a bit more and only have to do the job once. But no-one else is prepared to buy anything but the cheapest, so there is no market for decent gear.
I am talking simple DIY stuff like mastic, doorbolts, etc.

its a fact of life now everything is made to last the warranty thats it after that they don't care as money to them is the main object. as one you'l either take it to them to repair so more money or you buy new.
its like that old car in america can't remember name think it was by general motors they had built this car with the fuel tank in the wrong place so if you had certain accidents the car would burst in to flames which they knew but they worked out to fix the problem would cost 20million but it would only cost them 10million in law suits and damages and the deaths it would corse so didn't bother. they did get found out tho and was made to pay a hell of alot of money as they knew of the fault and didn't fix it. but the point is all company's don't care unless there's summat in it for them.

I started buying cars back in the '60's and believe me, they certainly dont make things like they used to - THANK GOD! Cars are SO much better built now. When you consider the complexity of modern cars compared to back then, the build quality and reliability are infinately better. Oils and fuels have a great deal to do with it as well. You wouldn't dream of using now, what were considered top oils back then.
