Default squealing brakes

Had some mintex xtreme brake pads fitted to the front of my00 turbo yesterday and they have now started to squeal when braking. The original brake pads had shims either side of the calipers, should these shims have been put back in when the new pads were fitted?

Think you will find they will squeal badly when cold anyway mate. A lot of the performance aftermaket pads do.

They are squealing more when they are warm. Also had the same pads fitted to the rear at the same time and they seem fine

My brakes have been squealing for months.
I changed my pads and my disks and sthey still squeal!
I even tried a bit of lubricant, they were quiet for a couple of days and then the squeal came back

Did you leave the shims out ?

They are called anti squeal shims and are there for a reason, BUT, IMHO Mintex pads always squeal, you would have been better off with Ferodo DS2500, better when cold and not as noisy all round.

They just seem to squeal towards the end of braking just as you are coming to a stop

Put the shims back in and use Copperslip on both sides of the shims, you will probably find this is enough to stop the noise, if not totally at least to levels you can live with.
Only 10% of the cars braking is done on the rear............no squeal from here.
