MY07 STI PPP Question
Hi All,
Had a phone call from the PCP company supplying my 07 model STI, and they have told me that the PPP upgrade cannot be fitted when I collect the car in 4 weeks (4 loooong painfull weeks!) as Subaru have not yet announced the PPP package for the MY07. They have told me that it will be fitted at the 1000 mile service. My understanding was that there are no engine changes between the 06 and 07 models so the existing PPP would cover the MY07. Personally I reckon that Subaru are fobbing me off as the supplying dealer is sales only with no service department. It's not a big deal but I thought someone on here might be able to shed a little more light on this.
Cheers
Paul

I Reckon you are right. To my knowledge, the 07 is the same as the o6, give or take the odd ashtray, and also, if they say it's not ready now, how do they know it will be in a few weeks when you do 1000 miles?

Subaru don't like the PPP getting fitted until after the first service if I remember correctly.
Makes sense to me anyway.....Go and let the thing get bedded in properly for the first 1000 miles, then you can have the PPP fitted.
You'll appreciate it more then too.

Cheers everyone...The car is purchased directly through Subaru and the dealer just gets a handling fee, so maybe they have stipulated to the dealer not to fit it prior to the 1000 mile service. Still I wish they could just say that, rather than making up some mumbo jumbo about it not being released yet. I guess it will be nice to feel the difference between PPP and Std though. Just can't wait to get it now

There are quite a few changes 06-07MY, not least the ECU being new. Again!
The PPP is currently in development but as the specs are very similar it shouldn't take us too long to get it sorted.
Fitting at at 1000 miles isn't a Subaru or Prodrive stipulation at all, it's more down to logistics. The dealer can't order the parts for the PPP until he has the car (or it's allocated to him at least) so the fact that he may have to wait a few days for them to arrive would cause a delay in the car being delivered to you which he obviously wants to avoid for many reasons.

Other than the ECU change which Mike has mentioned, The cigarette lighter is gone and replaced with a 12v outlet, the drivers side door switches are changed, the rear boot badges are different, the tracker is no longer a Trackstar+ (now a Meta GPA800 I think) and crystal grey has been replaced with urban grey (I've gone for this...looks great ). There has been some mention of rear suspension changes, although I'm unsure of this.

There's a few other changes such as suspension components, front and rear lights are now all chromed inside, side vent in front bumper is all body colour.

Their dyno is dyno dynamics I believe. When we ran the car on another well known dyno dynamics rolling road we got 310bhp on the first run and over 325bhp on the last one, all without changing anything on the car!

Interesting. Yes it is a Dyno Dynamics. Dunno why mine is a bit lower then.
Got an opportunity to run it again in a few weeks so will see if it makes any more in the colder weather.

We generally do more runs than you may get on a typical 'dyno day' but you do have to be careful about temperatures as everything gets too hot really quickly.
