Judging by use of the word "mincing" we can conclude that the person who put the video is a **** Cant really make out what happens properly, but to me it looks like the car in front plays along for a while, the car behind keeps up and only passes when the car in front backs off. Kinda like the Scooby vs Ferrari vid I posted the other day for a giggle!

Yes, but the Clio is also quicker than a Ferrari.

Blimey, just got in to see if anyone had any ideas about my Scoob not losing my mate's Alfa and there's 3 pages of mostly c@#k comments

I've never ever had the idea that my WRX is a Porker beater, it's just great fun to drive, I drove my mate's 996 turbo and yes, when I have the readies I'm having one! Having driven 130,000 miles in my Scoob in 4 years (!!!) I've had to switch to a vRS for the daily miles so I can get a bigger house with the growing family.

I suppose what I was surprised at was how the 3 litre 164 (?) kept up. He couldn't get any better than keeping up but I kind of thought that with the PPP and the decat I'd have more of an edge. I guess I really need to get it mapped properly.

BTW, I know most people on here hate the look of the bug eye but I can live with it. It's all paid off and I'm keeping it - until I can get that 996 - at least 10 years

What a load of ****e?

Transmission losses whilst rolling account for a lot, plus response and torque.

My previous motor was an Alfa GTV 3 litre, I now own a modified WRX bugeye, even with the mods, I'd expect a 3 litre V6 to do some serious shifting mid range. I would think that it could keep up if not be quicker than most scoobys on a straight road.

itl probly have an advantage due to the torque it has ( presumably ) from the extra displacement etc... wouldnt have to be thrashed as much as the WRX to get the power, and as its a rolling start the scoobs 4wd advantage would be gone, so if you both got the power down at same instant id say the reasons above are why u didnt pull away from the alfa... its late so thats a **** answer i know lol but hey, i tried to be constructive lol

A lot of nonsense talked on here as usual. As Andy kindly pointed out, I dealt with this issue on the 2nd post. A std Fiat Turbo will happily live with a Bugeye beyond 70 in a straight line. You need look no further than the figures to ascertain that. A modified Fiat will beat a std Bugeye in a straight line from a rolling start! A modified Scooby will beat a std Fiat in all conditions. The Fiat suffers from the same disadvantages as all high powered FWD cars.............................................. .................................................. ...and from being a Fiat!

Likewise a modified Fiat Coupe Turbo will leave a similarly modifed WRX in it's wake.
Face facts the Impreza is simply not a very quick car. Accept that fact, learn to deal with it and move on.

True to some extent, I was talking about a standard WRX or even STI. I'd be interested though to see exactly how quick some of the tastier fugly bugeyes are at higher speeds.

although clearly you have mental issues. I have a bugeye with a few bits and bobs pushing 340/330 ish. Now i dont buy into this my car(read c*ck) is faster(read bigger) than yours but bring your s8 down this may and ill f*cking lunch it sunshine as I have numerous M3's, porkers(not any gt's mind!), Fiats and particularly Focus ST. How can a car with 120 BHP less be quicker. Do I also read that a nissan micra is quicker than a clio 182 then its the same power diffence. No Cheeky pithy comeback just put your money where your big ugly mouth is and come show your metal.

Are you an idiot? I'm certainly not suggesting that a modified car can't be fast. What I've talked about are standard cars or very lightly modifed ones. Are you so obtuse that you imagine a Fiat Coupe running the same power as you wouldn't be faster? Of course it would you idiot, you have an aero and drivetrain disadvantage

As for bringing my S8 'down this way' firstly I don't race on the roads with little boys in their crappy stickered up fugly bugeyes. Secondly as you may have read it's about to be sold. Tell you what though, come over to the mainland and I'll thrash your sorry *** from Bottrop to Koln and back again. You wouldn't stand a fecking chance. Moreover I'd be sat there listening to Wagner in comfort while your piece of crap shook itself to pieces shortly before it melted.

you amuse me little boy. Why inhabit a site with only the intention of winding everyone up? Do you have no friends or life. You never have a wife and children perhaps a dolly or a selection of pictures on your pc that glitter himself would be proud of. Ill be there little boy. You save your insults till we are face to face big man.
