I'll see you on the 5th, assuming your car can make it that far.

YOU ARE AN IDIOT
I'll be at the 'ring on the 4th and 5th November, black German registered RHD S8 and do try to keep a civil tongue in your mouth before I show you the way round.

Simple fact:
Newage scoobies are heavy
Newage scoobies are 4wd
Newage scoobies are not the fastest thing in a straight line.
Ignoring launches and tuned scoobies, 30-100mph scoobies really suffer. They just do. Get over it.
2wd cars, be it rwd or fwd, are going to be faster once moving. Scoobies only get there quick 0-100 times and 1/4 miles by their great launch. Take a ERST that runs the quarter in 13.5 seconds at 115mph with a 0-60dash of 7seconds, compared to a 13.5 scooby time with a terminal of 105mph and 0-60 of 5 seconds. So the erst has accelarated 55mph in 6.5 seconds, where as the scooby has only accelarated 45 mph in 8.5 seconds. Its obvious which one to me is accelarating faster.
No offence to anyone on these boards but i own an 04 sti ppp, not ecutekd or anything just the bog standard 280ish bhp. I also own a 190 bhp Escort RST. And i know which one is faster in a straight line, and the escort has 'old school' lag.

i often wonder if imprezas are sooooo ugly, slow, poor handing and apparently get wasted by every vehicle from a skoda vrs thru to a corsa what everybody is on here for. Most enthusiasts boards are for that reason. So people who love their pride and joy can enthuse over them and share knowledge and tips to improve their vehicle. But on here its different. There is a resentment and a refusal to accept that a well modded subaru can and will outperform more expensive exotica. I wonder how many of you support a football team and turn up on the terraces hurling abuse at their own players. Or who marry a women and go around caling her Fat and useless. Your money, your car your choice. Ran over now where is that 50bhp nova that keeps p*ssing on me

.......and that BS from ninjaguppie about the Impreza 'outperforming exotica when modded' is laughable.

Aston, make sure you close the roof vent... may just give you a vital few tenths
Then again, why bother! You'll waste him anyway

Torpid, I remember seeing something about Groenigen,(what a town ) I'm only about 2 hours from there. Just off the A7 Between Hannover, Hamburg and Bremen. If the Ring becomes a no go we could sort something else out.

There's a nice track here at Assen although as I'm sure you know it's a bit narrow being more of a bike track than for cars. I try and get out there as often as I can. I imagine it would suit your car more than it does the S8.
Can't see the 'ring being impossible, hotel is booked and other than closures or a freak snow storm I can't see it not happening.

Also, you keep telling us how wonderfull your S8 is and how it costs you less than an an 06STi, but that's not a fair comparison really! Sure the S8 is a great car, but you don't get much of a new 06 S8 for the the price of a new STi and don't even start on the depreciation. The truth of the matter is, your budget doesn't stretch to the price of any NEW car that can actually match a new Impreza!
As for new gen hot hatches, you'll know all about torque steer then and the complete inability to get hard on the power early in a corner. In reality you don't accellerate from 60-100 on straight roads (other than motorways where anyone can drive in a boring straight line), you accellerate out of corners, where, the Impreza will be hitting 100 before the hot hatch can get back on the throttle!

Motorsport Arena Oschersleben
As far as I'm aware it's driver training days. As opposed to get on there with anything and nail it days. Still has more forgiving run off's on the corners. Or a decent bit of kitty litter.
