Question

The other day whilst talking to a chap from BBR.
He mentioned that they had chipped (raised the boost) over 100 Impreza's and had not had any problems reported back to them by the owner's of the car's. He said that they get about 40 bhp extra this way.

Have any of you guys used BBR and if so what do you think of there work?

That's because the people that got the cars chipped weren't the owners, but thieves wanting more power from the car for future raids!
I haven't heard of anyone that's been there, and whilst it's possible that all of them don't visit Scoobynet or 22B.com, I would say it's highly unlikely so would probably say he's talking poo!
Having said that, aren't they Superchips agents?

Stef.

It did sound a bit funny over 100 chips and no complaints/problems

On the subject of converting my engine to a very high output I was quoted £16K! by them, which seemed just a tad toooooooooooo much too me for some pistons, injectors new ecu and mapping it all etc. Or is it really that expensive to tune the Scoob engine for high outputs?

Years ago, I fitted a BBR Starchip, Their advert said 144 bhp (up from 128bhp). I started with 126 and ended up with 128. I got a larger gain (at the wheels) from synthetic gearbox oil.

Pinch of salt ...
