new scooby
#1
just bought my first scooby three weeks ago after trading in my 306 gti6, what a difference!! the only problem is fuel consumption but who cares when you have this much fun. Got told about this site by a friend and now i can't keep off it.
Also noticed in the morning the engine has piston slap, anybody know how i stand with the dealers, the car is subaru proven with a years warranty, any help with this would be appreciated

Hi Simon,
i traded a 306 gti-6 in for my scoob too, now you will notice the fuel goes down alot quicker and that scoobs aint the best in town but its more fun!!
As regards to piston slap, is your car an import from europe and if so have you registered it with IM???
You also have to warm the engine up, ie let it ilde before driving off for say 20-30secs and then run the engine down or you could starve the turbo of oil (unless of course u have a turbo timer )
I hope you enjoy your car as much as everyone else does on here, have fun driving and watch out for those speed cameras

My car is a my97 uk spec its going to my local dealers on thursday night and i'm leaving it there so they can hear the noise. When i spoke to them the guy at service said that it had the wrong type piston in it and there was four different types, he also said that they just fit one new piston, does this require the engine out? if so i think i'll have a new clutch fitted at the same time
