Default Cant get Gauge Pod to stick

Hallo

Fitted a boost gauge to my UK Turbo.

I have fitted it into a Single Gauge Pod

On my Dash, above the clocks but to the right, So its slightly on an an angle and it keeps faling of, I dont want to screw it to the dash or glue it with super glue as the dash would then be foooked if i removed it.

I have removed the pad supplied with it and replaced it with some No More Nails double sided tape.....Worked 1st class last night while i was out in it, Got up this morning to go to work and the cold must have caused it to fall of again, so i but some more on this morning.

If it does the same again has anyone got any ideas for STICKY STUFF.

cheers

Staffy

Have you cleaned the bit of dash with alcohol/meths..? Quite often the dash has a coating of silicone/wax from previous cleaning (no matter how long ago it may have been). Nothing will stick if there is even a trace of this.

Give it a try.

BTW I've got some alcohol wipes if you haven't got anything suitable. PM me if you need a few and I'll gladly pop them in the post..

Go to a DIY store and get some super strong velcro - works a treat

The best double sided sticky's I come accross Staffy are the pads you can buy for fixing the rear view mirrors on the windscreen.... they aint cheap but they stick well. As above give both surfaces a really good clean with a spirit then maybe this weather warm both surface with a hair drier before you fix together..... then go easy on throttle and brake for a few days

Aye the mirror stickers are good or the number plate stickers. Not sure which would work out cheapest, but Halfrauds do both iirc..

Either way they won't work unless the surface is wax/silicone free.

Just remembered that the number plate ones come with an alcohol wipe..!
