Default Headers

Guys,

I have got a 95 WRX JDM with Aps exhaust no cats etc, it has a 2.2 engine conversion, forged internals, it rev's to 8k I have standard headers with a very deep burble I have some equal length headers im thinking about fitting, the car run's anything from 1.2-1.4 Bar depending on mood i dont know how much power I have but the car is a lot quicker than wrx PPP, mate has one, cant live with mine ! I have good boost control and get max boost @ 3.5k revs, think it has TD05, i think ive got about 300 hp what can I expect with equal length headers Thanks in advance

Depends on the make of the headers you have got.
99% of the Flea-bay ones actually lose torque (see the article this months Jap Performance magazine about project RA).
Only use high quality ones to gain both power and torque.

With equal lenth headers you will loose the burble, unequal headers will retain some of the burble, im no expert but from what i gather tubular headers will only come into their own when you want big power gains, you probably wont benifit as much if your planning on around 300bhp you may even loose torque, you can get your standard ones ported and flowed. What make are the headers youve got?

Sorry didnt explain properly all work has been done, mate is a Porsche tech at silverstone and he reckons over 300 Hp as it is would be a conservative figure, I would like to get to 350hp with current setup the only thing i can do is headers I think ?

Do you have an aftermarket/fully mappable ECU, are the injectors standard and is the intercooler standard, do you have an uprated fuel pump or FPR, these are other things that need to be taken into consideration.

I dont think that your standard turbo will be able to reach those figures. Would be best to contact one of the many reputable tuners on here,ie Andy Forrest, Zen Performance, Scooby Clinic..... and the list goes on, they will be able to help you with exactly what your looking for.

It looks like you have all the supporting mods to get your goal, if its a standard TD05 then im not sure it will reach that figure, but dont quote me on that as i may well be wrong, as i said you are best speaking to the really clever boys.
