Default Powerstation'ed STI JDM - 355bhp & 350lb/ft

Finally got my 03 STI JDM Twin scroll remaped yesterday @ Powerstation

After a few runs.. Rich managed to get 355/350 @ 1.45bar which is good but i was expecting 360+/360+

would it be possible if i raised it to 1.6bar?

Spec :

HKS Twin scroll Downpipe
HKS Hiper exhaust system
Cold air induction

Rich said it doesnt need a Fuel pump as the origianl is man enough, he also said it doesnt need a 3 port solonoid

Is the above Figure right?

Yes those are the realistic figures 360+ is abit optmistic

360bhp is about as much as you will get, though 355lbs of torque... even my car made 356lbs in standard form (just a panel filter) so yes you can seriously improve there

Whats the turbo pressure standard on the Jdm sti with the twinsroll .I have 05 Jdm sti running V-power and millers octane plus .~DrEaM whats the car like now after exhaust and remap

Cool figures!

I attained circa 365bhp with PowerStation during the Stage 1 modification work, with similar mods...... but for that kind of boost (1.6bar - which is what I was running) you will need a stronger actuator with a higher crack pressure.

Come on mate, your car was never really producing 356lbft with just a panel filter and everything else standard, regardless of what that RR told you. Stick my car on the same rollers as you did to get that figure and I will surely have 400+lbft, which I know for a fact it hasnt.

It retared its ecu yesterday (v power) yet still produced 315lbs, gus's type RA produced its 361lbs which is pretty much as powerstation mapped it, now knock mine back up (30bhp and the torque) and yes it does produce that sort of torque level, why? because no one else has run a standard(ish) spec c to find out what they can produce with 20k miles on the clock
It was run (for the 356lbs) against cars which had certain packs on (with certain power levels) which produced those power levels but slightly less torque... when i get her back on the rr, pop up and run yours next to mine

Tony,

I ran my spec c with 16k miles on the clock with standard Spec C ecu code and standard exhaust (in fact totally standard everything engine wise), when I first started the modifications (not published in the articles though). Power and torque was about 310 on Optimax.

If I want free torque though I know where to go.

Sorry if this is a really numpy question, but how comes a remapped JDM STI produces the basically same figures as my T25. Considering the whole point of the T25 was to take the JDM STI to the next level, with 2.5lt lump and hybrid twin scroll. Is the difference in the power delivery, I'd be really interested to see some graphs if you've got some?

well the mid-range power is so much you hardly need to shift down!!! the car now feel so smooth you cant notice the turbo spooling up

Cheers Robocop, yours is a Type 20, right??

It's quite different to mine then, you've got slightly more BHP, and my peak power is at about 5k revs. As for torque, mine 515Nm at about 4k revs

It does surprise me that for all the extra expense of a t25 the actual numbers (top-line anyway) a quite similar to JDM STI's

As tony said my figures were just about the same as powerstation
361lbs which isnt bad considering its only got the miltek exhaust and a remap for optimax I know you haven't published your latest mods yet but could you pm me at what stage you are at with yours atm

This makes interesting reading as I had a few mods done and a remap on my 04 JDM. Namely Green panel filter, H&S 3" exhaust with 100 cell sports cat, uprated fuel pump and AVCR 3 port solenoid and boost controller. Then remapped by Andy F. I have had it on a Dastek RR with figures of 333bhp and 378lbsft.
This was run a few times with little difference. What I noticed with mine is there seems to be a big difference in the BHP and torque compared to nearly every other modded JDM I have seen. Think I need to try a different RR to compare readings.
To be honest I'm happy the way the cars pulls and drives but did expect siniliar figures of 350 / 350

Pete did a reset in the end, felt much better after that
The guy with the black wrx, with the 205bhp? (running unleaded ) his mulitplier was at 2 should be 16!!!

You dont even need the 3 port solenoid, just an exhaust, filter and remap would get you good figures with a JDM New age STi they are designed for torque, hence the headers and the fact that they are (03/04) 280ps and 290lbs of torque

That is one of the reasons why I put my car on the rollers at prosport just wanted to see what the differance if any was from the origional figures now that the engine has a few miles under its belt.Tony the lad was gutted with the wrx.

Pete still couldnt get it above 10 on the mulitplier, well duff fuel (prob supermarket crap)

Tony to answer my question, how is it that a remap can give a JDM STI almost identical figures to a t25?

Because the 2ltr JDM engine is designed for torque, hence you can get some serious figures out of them though the T25 probably isnt as strained and i think it ran the normal pistons (the 2.5 isnt exactly a good engine), the new T25 is a monster though

Dont confuse peak figures with driveability. Way too many people go number chasing or look at peak figures in isolation.... also when was your T25 RR at PS? I know they had the rollers updated with new software etc and this gave more realistic torque figures..... from what I remember the T25's that read 350/350 on the old setup , ran 350+/390 on the new setup.
