Try checking your spark plug gaps are set to 0.6mm, otherwise the spark escapes out of the side of the gap if too far apart. This usually happens when intially coming onto full boost.

Have you got an aftermarket dump valve fitted. Sounds very similar to a problem I had with my Classic a few years ago. Turned out to be a faulty spring.........put on the oem plastic dump valve and the car was sorted.

Is it an early car running coil-packs?

I'm told that if its got too much oil in it you get a boost cut due to the over-pressuring. That feels more like a drastic engine cut though.

MY00 classic used to do it. Turned out to be the MAF sensor.

mate,

I had exactly the same thing. It was a stuttering sensation - quiet violent at times. Subaru tried replacing the plugs, the air filter, cleaned the wastegate solenoid the lot - and to no avail.

Took it to scoobyclinic and they diagnosed it within seconds..... COILPACKS. These things are fairly costly but the difference made was unreal and trust me, you'll love your scoob again!
