Default Engine warning light

Hi everyone, I have just purchased my first subaru 2 weeks ago: a 51 plate WRX.
I am made up with the car, but have had a problem that I would like some guidance with.
When accelerating hard in 5th gear, around 4000 revs the car splutters and the engine warning light comes on (yellow). This doesn't happen every time and the light goes off after a while (about 12 hours). I am worried that I might be doing some damage.
My car is also fitted with a boost control valve can any one give me some info on the best settings and operation.

Thanks alot guys

Bugeye's are notorious for throwing CEL's but best get it checked out as the code will be stored on the ECU.

Mine used to throw a camshaft position error which went out after about 5 starts but it seems to have stopped it now. I have also had a number of "misfire" CEL's which have again stopped.

Best get it checked out though
