Default Advice please ? Doorhandles....

Do you think i should seek matching IE Silver doorhandles. After the Jap Bash in Sussex i realised i was the only one with ******* horrible black doorhandles (yeah and the rest lol). I don't think i've seen door handles for sale so i take it they are rare, would you advise against spraying them ? I'm a bit worried about the paint flaking off the plastic although i sprayed the skirts silver myself and don't seem to have that problem.
Any help would be appreciated, anyone who would be able to photoshop them silver would also be a great help.
Thanks

You can buy a special primer for painting on plastics, any decent car place will help you out, a little prep is required and dont hurry the coats and you will be fine.

Thanks, i think i did a good job on the skirts, sanding them down and being patient between coats. Obviously the handles will have more contact so i'm just a bit worried about flaking.

Use the correct primer, prep the handles first,Remove all traces of polish(particularly silicon),roughen the surface of plastic everywhere the paint will be going, leave no sharp edges (between areas under handles in the nooks and crannies) of roughened parts and smooth ones.
Paint the primer several coats can be gently rubbed in between coats when fully dry. Paint your colour, build layers light at first then full coat. Then use a good few layers of scuff resistant laquer (for regularly used areas).
leave to harden fully before reassembly (always longer than you think).
should be OK.
Other option is to take them to bodyshop and they will do them for you around £80-£120 depends on where you are.

While we're on about door handles.

Is it possible to fit a passenger side one on the drivers side, so there's no lock? (On a newage)

I don't think a passenger side one would fit, you'd need one from the rear drivers side

I would defo. take them off, by the time you have masked them all up and made sure of the coverage its probably quicker and easier (imho) anyway.
