Default Is this safe ?

Hi people im going to pickup a scoob tomorow 53 plate WRX 34000 miles.

anyway its had a few mods

GREEN panel filter
miltek decat center pipe
and a prodrive backbox

i know these are only simple mods but my question is are these mods safe without a remap ?
or is the car liable to run lean ect ? your advice is greatly recieved

Hi,

Yes it should be fine, main effect of these mods will be on the noise the car produces, i.e. it'll sound much nicer than std. You might get a few extra ponies.

Should have about 10bhp extra from that at the top end and no danger of it running lean - will be perfectly safe. Only thing you might notice is at very low revs, pulling away etc, it's not quite as nice as a standard car - it's a tiny compromise for the sound improvement and slight power increase.

I've had almost the same done to my car mate but i did the down pipe not center. you should have no probs at all. i might consider fitting a boost gauge to keep an eye out incase you start to get a bit of over boost. hth

No problem what so ever, as already said. Ran my 05 wrx for 10 months or so before taking the next step.. Should spool a little earlier and rev a bit easier..

Ok its been a few months since i got the car and started this post.
im ready for more power now.
i want to keep things mot legal so what are my options now please ?

(current spec is at the top of this page)

just looking for a remap i think but any advise would be great with expected power as a result

ps im looking for about 260-270 bhp as in another 30-40 bhp on what ive got now.

Go PPP plus springs it will make a big difference if that is what you want, but as you will be no doubt be told the options are endless
