288bhp with 266lb/ft, i wonder what the power to weight ratio equates to. Mind you its probaly really low cos 01's are fat and slow

It is a full de-cat with the Prodrive backbox. It makes it quite a fruity drive(ask Moe) but there could be warranty issues
edited to say Scoobysport has done all the exhaust work

Scott, its weight divided by power = bhp per tonne, ie, rough weight of an MY01 is 1400kg (empty) your power is 288bhp, so after a few calcuations that equates to.... Just under 206bhp per tonne

I think that may be more like bhp/weight(in tonnes, or is that tons??)
So 288/1.4 = 206bhp/tonne.
Sorry just nit picking, I'm waiting for my engine to cool down so I can add some transmission oil (what fun, the smallest nozzle in the world......)

Couple of quick questions;
Thanks

Cool (or is it hot? )
Couple of quick questions;
- Have you gone fully de-cat and removed the cat in the up-pipe?
- Are you getting the check engine light problems?
Thanks

HHxx I thought Tony was just giving us the unit = bhp/ton (metric). And I don't think Scott was really asking us to calculate it was he? He was telling us prats with MY00's to stop spouting about superior PWRs. Good on him for getting such good results.
Also interested to wonder how much came from the ported headers so I can keep up with these new-fangled MY01s!

Imprezas (and other A/4WD cars) tend to lose a fair old whack of power through the drive train.
Even so....A great result !!!!
The bug eye is growing on me

bloody hell! i go out for the afternoon and the posting goes mad
Tony: i calculated it at 208.6 cos 01's 1380kg
John Banks : spot on mate i don't really want to dig out the old shape boys(i had one myself) but alot of people seem to think the 01 is lame, i'm here to prove there not
My car is a full de-cat and lately my check engine light comes on quite alot, but i'm not too bothered it. I had my headers done on friday by Scoobysport. They would of made some difference but not a great deal to notice much of a diiference on my car( the odd 5 or 10bhp on a 290bhp car does'nt make alot of difference)
I think my main gains were from the APS induction kit. Below 3000rpm the car is about the same if not a small gain but up at the top it is pretty awesome.
The downside to these mods is that my car is running slightly lean. i would say that the APS is the main reason for this but if i went back to a standard exaust that would probaly cure it, each mod will cause a little of this but that justs gives me something to work on cos i'm not changing back At least i'm not getting any knock, my ignition is only retarding at 4-5degrees
Jonno, i look forward to seeing your STI7 when its run in and modded

Thanks Scott,
I had heard that the MY01 was pretty good on the induction side and that there wasn't much benefit in changing the standard induction set-up. Obviously that's not the case!
