Default Prodrive DownPipe + centre Decat Fitted

yep, fitted to my 03 STI at triton on thursday and i'm well chuffed with the result, i was very surprised at the difference, a very big gain in power and so much more free revving, just the remap and a few bits and bobs to sort next and i'm all up together.

The list of mods since i bought the car last september is:

1, mudflaps.

2, Goodyear eagle F1's

3, Powerstation Stage 2 Suspension Set Up + drop links.

4, Braided Hoses + Ferodo DS2500 Pads.

5, Prodrive back box.

6, Prodrive Sport Downpipe + Centre Decat

To go, (Wife permitting )
Green cotton panel filter (ordered)
Remap at powerstation or BR developments
Front Grill kit.

then all done (maybe)

i would have thought a new pump should have been on that list?
is it safe to run with those mods without the remap.

yep have spoke to powerstation & triton and should not have a problem, as for the pump 350bhp+ then you need one but i wont go that far.

strange that, cos the sti ppp has an uprated fuel pump and all the tuners i have spoken with advise an uprated pump if having a remap/exhaust mods on the newage sti.

if you look at the powerstation upgrade for uk STI it does not include a fuel pump, i also ask'd this question at BR developments and i was told only uprate the pump if your going over 350bhp, i understand what your saying about the PPP and i admit it is a bit strange and before i get mapped i will ask the question again.

It could be how close the pump will be to it's flow limit.
Prodrive probably changed the pump because it was closer to it's limits than they would like. Belt and braces these prodrive guys, and that suits me fine.

I know someone who logged some data after changing the exhaust and at high revs the engine was running lean due to the fuel pump not being able to cope. Upgraded the pump and no more running lean. Definitely worth £80 in my opinion just to be safe.

I'm sure when PPP was first released for the STI there was a big thread on here about this issue. The outcome of this was Prodrive did a recall on PPP to include uprated pump which is now standard on PPP for STI.
For the small price I would fit one.

#8 above is cheap, but i would add the SX fuel pressure regulator too to get the best from the work.
