My dads recently fitted a new exhaust, on the way home tonite we got quite a few funny looks!! It is rather loud to say the least!!

Can anyone tell me what the legal sound limit is please and how can we find out how loud the car really is??

Thanx

Cool

Not sure, but I think on track it is about 110db.

Not sure also how you can find out, short of buying a sound meter.

Thumbs up

t_m you worry too much

I wake all my road up at 2am when I get called out at work and have to get my car out the garage

No complaints yet...infact the guy up the road said to me how nice my car sounded the other day!

Dont worry about the neighbours mate

I have a full BPM exhaust system, this thing defines the word 'loud', my missus complains that the windows rattle when I come home! - the neighbours havnt breathed a word!

Cheers

Can't add much to DW's post. But if you drag it over to Oulton on a trackday I sure they'll stick a meter on it for you.

BTW a certain gentleman of our aquaintance needed a generouse marshal and a casual interpretation of engine revs to meet their 110db limit
You are running with the added advantage of larger dia. pipework.

TM Don't think it's an 01 owner, so that rules out at least a dozen close friends

Mr C, recommende practice, unless you live close to an airport
