Default Le Mans

Who on here does the annual pilgrimage to Le Mans ?

A mate and I are planning to attend next year and have been checking out various sites, but I wondered is there a scoobynet contingency who go ?

If so do you camo and what site do you stay at ?

Been going for the last few years. Only camped once and did not really enjoy it as it was very hot and dusty. Its ok for a couple of nights but we did it for 5, too much for me. So now we rent a house, done it this way for the last couple of years. If you can find somewhere that will sleep say 10 people around 30 - 40 mins from the track you are laughing. But I suspect most will be fully booked by now. We book ours the week after the race for the following year.. to give you an idea we sleep 14 people in ours for 100 quid each, for 7 days. House has all mod cons and pool etc.

i have been for the last 6 years. I go with a group of mates, normally about 12 cars, for the past 3 years we have been in karting nord. The carparks all have good and bad points imho. The best i think is maison blanche, down to its location. Karting nord is good but can get fully of buses and a bit busy on the friday, sat and sunday. We tend to get there on the Tuesday afternoon, being a large group it can get tricky later in the week to get a good plot.

Wednesday and Thursdays are the best days to drive down imho, there tends to be more people about in some great cars!

Its well worth going as its a great experience. There are a number of tour operators that sell ticket packages. Thats probably the best thing to do on your first trip.

Cheers all

We're doing the camping thing this year, although the house with pool sounds like the way to go !

We're just heading down on our own, all the others bottled out when they dicsovered we were camping, so I was wondering if there was a group from here that went, often these things are more fun in bigger groups.

As for the chavs, well I'm sure it gets worse every year, whats starts off as high jinx gets turned into something out of order by a growing but still small minority.

We will sound it out next year as its our first time, and see what we can learn for future years.

Doing it for the first time - my mates did it, hiring two Campervans and had an awesome time (from what they remember !!).

Hi there,

As per my first post if you visit Club Arnage I am sure you will find groups of people to camp next too. The group I go with always arrange to camp next to other Club Arnage members and whichever group gets there first grabs space for the others. Last year I think we had 4 or 5 Club Arnage 'teams' camped together where we were and there would of been lots of other CA groups in each camp site.
