Hi Rob,

any 'positive' value up to about 13 degrees (not sure if it ok above that because mine doesn't go over 13 by much).

I asked the same question a while back, as long as it's not a negative value it's ok. If it's negative the ecu is retarding KC, which is bad.

Anyone confirm I'm not talking total bollox????

My understanding is that it should be on maximum advance pretty much all the time... if it's not then it has detected knock and backed off.

When I had my ECU read it had advanced to the maximum - 16... meaning no knock had been detected. If it's reguarly detecting knock it will be down from this significantly...

Perhaps that's the equivalent of the positive / negative your talking about... also is this the short advance loop or the long one? I'm talking about the long one above I believe!

i've got a similar understanding to you rich. I'm always around the 9-11 + reading

not too sure of the techical side ben but i always read 0 if off the gas.

I'm not getting anything other than normal activity on the knocklink monitor either
