Default grinding metal

well thats what it sounds like coming from the back wheel, any ideas what it may be?

is it on a new car?


if its grinding, i would suggest pads as above, a rumbeling could be bearings

no its a classic, i thought it may be the pads but when we took it out for a spin at lunchtime it seems to have stopped!!!!

might be pad or caliper sticking, easy way to test this is to find a quiet road with no traffic check all clear then stomp hard on the brakes doinf about 10-20mph, come to a rther rapid halt but should break any loose crap of the caliper and unstick the pad if its stuck, will also reseat the pad, had this on mine ater a clean out of the caliper and and did exactly that (as told) and it sorted it

Probably a small stone or similar between the disk and caliper or rear guard plate. Makes an awful squeeling or grinding noise then suddenly stops when it pops free!
