I am intereted in getting some new brakes for my MY99 Type R and was considering some godspeed ones but unsure on which ones, and if anyone has any opinions on them would be helpful, really want some AP 6 pots but £1400!!!!

If you want the best, you get what you pay for with AP.
I got talked into StopTech and regretted it ever since.
Otherwise get the best you can afford, so i cannot say for sure if 335 is really "worse" than 355 kit, but i would get the biggest i could fit under the wheels, within my budget personally.

KOD are doing 335 or 355 eight pots for under a grand.

You REALLY need to look at what will, and won't fit under your wheels, before buying owt.

Eg: 335mm;17" wheels, 355mm;18" wheels, etc, IIRC, but Ian at godspeed will advise.

Also, unless you are going to do track days, forget all you've been told about paying HUGE money for brakes. I have Godspeed 325mm Brembos under 17" wheels running close to 300bhp on a classic, with no probs, and it also stops my heavy caravan too, when I tow that. Over 40,000 miles on the same discs and pads, just about ready for replacement in the new year....

Cheers Alcazar think I'm just gonna get a godspeed kit as I don't do any track days yet but don't really plan on doin loads. I have 18's but i don't think Ian sells the 355mm kit without calipers, and I plan to have my car around 450bhp so will these still be ok for that?

Keep your eye out for a second hand set of AP's- they are worth the extra- and if you're going for that sort of power then you'll be spending a good few quid, so why cut corners and make do with something that you ultimately will never be 100% happy with?

I have the AP6 pots and 335mm discs....worth every penny but then I did upgrade from the older 2 pots

The also fill the 17" wheels rather nicely!

As said above you get what you pay for i have just fitted my AP 6 pots 335 discs if you call Ian @ Godspeed i am sure he has a deal on @ the moment and they are a lot less than £1400 be aware that some 17'' wheels will not fit for the caliper has my Khans didn't on the front but i recommend the AP Racing calipers you only do this mod once Godspeed Ian 01656723060

Cheers for the replies, what would be the best set up just for all round use mainly road maybe one or two trackdays but none at the moment would the gospeed kit be ok for 450bhp??

I have my old Godspeed kit off my car if you fancy that 2nd-hand. Was looking for around £150 for the kit (brackets, spacers and the alloy bells). Other than discs/pads, the alloy bells are the other expensive bit of the kit, hence my price.

Don't have discs or pads as they were too worn.

New discs are roughly £295 and DS2500 pads are £100+ for that pad shape, but best checking with Ian.
