Default ANYONE TRIED

Quick Question has anyone tried turning the inlet manifold around on the ej20 engine is it a straight forward 180 degree turn or is it a little more difficult, whats involved, wanna run a frontmount intercooler but have the pipe work go direct from top of intercooler to inlet manifold also anybody know of anyone who can custom fabricate front mount intercoolers.

try looking at www.tractive.co.uk then products and induction. they sell a reversed inlet manifold and custom intercooler for a couple of grand.
great idea for sure to cut down lag but is it worth it for £1k?
these kits are designed to work with their equal length ceramic coated exhaust system (another £1k) to suit the imprezas pulse timing or something.
keep us informed if you decide to go for it, looks a great piece of kit
cheers

Scoobyclinic do this, but not by turning it around. They weld up the rear entry and cut open the front entry. Sounds very crude but I think they have had some success with it.

Thanks guys, cant seem to activate www.tractive.co.uk have u got a phone number mate, the reason i am asking is we have my sti lump out and have it in bits and was wondering if its possible to just turn it round, if the tractive works out we will go for one on the road car and one on the rally car, I must admit £1000 sounds alot but if your getting the intercooler aswell and all the pipes and fittings its not bad,

Yeah was thinking about locating the alternator where the aircon pump would be. Just found the website www.tracktive.co.uk looks like there manifold goes around the alternator, not sure if their manifold includes a space for the injectors and coil packs reckon they do a manifold alone for £885 which will mate upto an aps fmic, looks like it has been developed on a bugeye

it is defo ok for ej20 engine on gc8. the coils and header tanks (water and pas ) need resiting. this system was used on early wrc rally cars so must be top notch.
