Default Ebay again

Carbon is very scarce at the moment due to Airbus buying a quarter of the worlds supply, so supplies may dry up in the near future. Grab it while you can.

The bit about shortage of carbon fibre is right, well at least thats what my carbon supplier told me too. Loads of airplane bits are being made out of carbon fibre now and they are huge, the complate tailplane of the new airbus is carbon and it is something like 30 metres high! Apparently there is a new carbon fibre plant coming on line next year and things should get better then. My supplier told me that suppply is short and prices have doubled.

Wow, didn't realise that.

I take it back then!!!!

Am sure the new A380 must use quite a bit. Wonder if the Airbus factory has a pile of cutoff's out the back?

Carbon can be repaired but you will always see the imperfection on the repair as you will not get the weave lined up, Alway have to get the pannel painted afterwards,

Stuart I never realised you worked with Carbon, we have to order our prepreg supplies 3-4 months early to get it and the quality has dropped condierably lots of flaws in the rolls that you dont see untill you use it. We have started to buy in dry carbon and then send it to Amber / Advanced for turning it into prepreg.
