when you have a key in ignition and the door open does a beeper sound?-apart from the bl**dy obvious. its very annoying when cleaning the car and stereo on.
where is the offending item and can i stop it?
its on a classic wrx import

Yeah mine does that. Dont half get on your t*ts.

 

remove cover under dash down by your feet to get to the wireing there is a connector with two wires in i think the connector is green just pull it apart hope this helps

 

mine does it..when you open the door a plastic pin sticks out if you push it in the beep stops..

 

Mine used to do it. Now its broken

 

I first encountered this feature on an American car many years ago which has spread.Supposed to stop you driving off with your door open but why it keeps bleeping forever seems a bit like overkill.Probably some American legal thing where they are so fat they have trouble closing the door & their attention span is short it has to keep bleeping or they will sue the manufacturer if they fall out .
