A disklock will deter an opportunist as they aren't easily removed.

Very good in my opinion .Had one for my Scoob .Unfortunately went away for the weekend to a wedding and due to where it was held we took the wifes car .But clever me said take the disclock out of my car we can use it on yours .
Locked it up for the night and put disclock on it.
Yes you guessed it ,did not have the disclock key on my wifes keyring for her car .
Next day it took me and the RAC bloke about 45 mins to get it off ,having to destroy it in the process.
Buy one, if you want to have a chance of keeping your car .

Essential bit of kit IMHO. At the end of the day it doesn't matter how sophisticated your non-visible systems are, as this will only be discovered by the Scum after they have damaged your car to gain entry and in an attempt to get it going. You want something that projects a message that the car will not be easy to nick in a highly visible place.

A car with a cat one alarm, immobiliser and disclok will be be off limits to all but professional thieves. You're as safe as you realistically can be. Regrettably, if the real pros want your car they'll most likely take it.

Be aware that car security is at the point now where some scum will just try and get the keys off the owner rather than having to try and circumvent the car's security, so think about your own personal protection to: be observant before unlocking the car, keep it locked at all times when inside and on the move etc, careful where you park it, watch for vehicles that may be following you etc...

and IIRC didn't this come out top in one of those tests where they get a pro car thief or ex to see how quick he can break into a car with certain deterrents fitted, the disklok won i think cos it took in 19 minutes to remove

I found it's better to have a really hot disclock which get removed rather than a really hot stearing wheel!!!!

great bit of kit, It was the first thing I bought for the scoob.

They are very good, but I found mine a pain to stow away every time. The thing slid around on the floor, and it got in the way of the rear passengers feet.
So I sold it and got a DIPOL gearlock fitted, costs more but it fits in the center cubby when driving.

Yeah i liked the bling one too, lol. So the chrome is on its way, and i supposedly get a free bag to put it in too. OO i hear you cry!
I can see what you are saying though davedipster, and i used to get annoyed at it moving around years ago when i had the stoplock. You know, the 2 sec to get off version! Hahaha.

I have the disklok bag (although I don't really use it) and it never really moves around on the floor (stick it behind the passenger seat on the floor).

Great piece of kit - had mine for years.
