Afterburner, Blitz, 5Zigen - LOUD!

Ninja - not quite so loud.

Magnex - burble but quieter

No worries

I had a Ninja full decat on my first classic. Awesome sound, but a bit much perhaps. People in town used to turn round to see what was coming about 40 yds away.

Currently have Ninja Sports Cat downpipe, Magnex resonated centre and oval Backbox.

Lot quieter, but more tolerable especially on the motorway

Not at all, can just change the BB.

I changed the both because I wanted loudness as well as burble, but it is still quite tollerable. With the centre de-res I personally feel it revs more freely and is easier to drive than the previous set-up. I found the res centre and PPP BB a lumpy drive. The H&S centre is only about £70 and a much better set up. IMHO.

Would be interesting to see if changing the cheaper option of middle section for a de-res would improve the PPP BB burble ?

53WRX, does the H&S centre / backbox make it much louder than just changing the backbox

Sorry, still not up on all the spec talk.

What does a de-res mean?

I changed both at the same time but I wouldn't want it any quieter, which I guess it would be with the resonator still in place. The car is much smoother to drive and is easier to drive off boost without worrying about revs. I can only attribute this to the centre as I can't believe changing just the BB would make it feel so much better?
The resonator, in the original centre, takes out some of the noise to meet some manufacturers noise regulation I guess ?

Thanks for that, may have to purchase a H & S centre section then.

Question Question

I find that first thing in the morning when i go to pull out at junctions and put my foot down it takes time for the car to respond.

Should I be leaving it a min or so in the morn to warm up first.

Got told I need high revs to pull away quickly.

Still trying to get use to it.

My car used to be the same, slow out of junctions without a decent bit of revs, not so since the new BB and de-resonated centre. I pull out in second quite happiliy I'm not advocating that this is a cure but this sort of driving I have found is easier now that the car breathes better with the new BB and de-resonated centre.

Yes with turbo cars they need warming up and down for longevity

a couple miles drive before giving it full throttle ensures all the oils are up to temp and circulating keeping everything running fine. Same goes for warming down, except they need to cool off and cool the turbo down so a couple miles steady drive and a few secs idle well you get everything together will help keep the car in good condition

High revs will make you pull away quickly but you might get through a few clutches if you don't set off right
