Thinking of doing something similar - sick of the ugly box.

yeah done it all my self, about 1.5 hours in total inc fitting drilling cleaning up etc. Just make the l.e.d to the lengh that you need them with some wire, popped out the vent, masked it up, marked out and drilled holes, had to trim some of the dash where the vent sits so the wires from the l.e.ds can sit nice. put it all back to how it was.

the knock link box it under the dash and everything is easy to get to is i need to in the future
