WRX or turbo 2000?
When i bought my car i was told that it was a turbo 2000 by the dealer. I went ot Subaru to get a new key and they that it had come in via southern ireland, therefore its effectively an import. It has the 17 digit VIN number as apposed to the JDM one. So the question is, is it a turbo 2000 AWD or a WRX?

Youve hit the nail on the head; it has a 17 character VIN number so the car is certainly an EU-specification vehicle. If the car was a JDM model it would have a short chassis number prefixed GC8/GF8. I think that its is incorrect of your current Subaru dealer to refer to this vehicle as an 'import'; although this sort of arrogant ignorance is far from uncommon. Conversely; JDM cars are welcomed at my local Subaru dealership in Sheffield; Montys even have a set of JDM parts CDs to make ordering WRX parts easier...

Thanks for the reply. I was a little worried as to getting parts and the insurance but i guess it'll just be the same as my old 97 turbo 2000 wagon (apart from the boot bit).
