Shelsley Walsh, spectator's gallery a week ago!
5000 rpm and lift the clutch leg asap. That car/clutch has done that 80 times a year hillclimbing for 3 years and 9000 road miles.
Stock Sti v3 transmission, semi slick Kumho v700's and 360 lbft torque.
Repeated 6000 rpm stats are ok and the USA car gets a stronger bite as the tyres get hotter. Didn't notice, but what broke?

Intested to see this, as i've not used the Launch Control yet (5,000 rpm).
How will the standard clutch cope with launches, not that i'm interested in it, but would be interesting to know.

Slow down....
The hillclimb start is similar to a drag start.(and what the USA lad was doing in effect)
To get going quickly, you need to be prety hard on the car as P20SPD would agree (he is a demon drag racer).
Nothing wrong with shreadding the car like that, just be ready for a mishap every now and then.
I'm waiting for mine to pop any moment.
I've been waiting for 3 years now as I do not power shift like the Drag racers do.
Do such starts on the road all the time anf something will break.

It looks like something was leaking from the rear.
Maybe the diff casing went and its dropping the oil.
Whatever the problem its probably not going to be cheap.
Saying that Subaru USA Dealers might not be as expensive as those on our shores
Nik.
