Default Car Battery - Need to get a new one

Hi

Got a WRX 02, battery is continually going flat, so i guess it time to get a new one.

I want a decent one, maybe a Bosch or something like that.

Can anyone recommend a decent one, perhaps summat i can order online or something that is reasonably local to Preston.

Thanks

Bosch 6DA fits OK as my mate and I both have them fitted. My car is a 03, my mate has a 2002 STI. Cheapest place for them is Costco if you can get in @ just under £40 now after they went up by about 10%.

How about one of the Calcium types from Halfords..? Typically 30% more starting power (good for cold mornings), higher resistance to overcharge, and higher resistance to under-bonnet temperatures. Granted you may pay a little more but then again you shouldn't have too far to travel to get one.

I've got a Halfords Calcium one, very pleased. Turns the motor far quicker than the original (03STi) battery ever did.

2nd vote for Varta. Battery no. 560 162 042 2082. 60Ahr, 420A cold crank power. Bought from National Tyres - their part no. V560163. About 70 notes.

Varta Asia is same as Bosch Silver Asia 6DA I think. Varta and Bosch have the same HQ address. Same thing with different labels by the sound of it.

I've the Halfords calcium one too. Had it 18 months and still going strong - it will easily support a tracker and alarm for a week and then start the car
