Hi folks , just went out to park the car in the garage ( STI 8 ) and had to press the button on the key about 10 times to open the car ... strange i though . Anyway parked it in garage went to lock it and no not happening .. so went in to get other key thinking must be battery .. tried the other key and the same cant lock the car or even start it up ............. help as away offshore tomorrow and wife needs car to run kids around :-(

has the car got power? by that i mean could the car have a flat battery?

if not sounds like the batteries in your keyfobs have gone - garages sell keyfob batteries - might not be a bad idea to eliminate the possibility?

hi mate yea i will try garage tomorrow for new battery but strange if both have went on the same day at same time ?? ..

Not any newly erected phone masts around you is there. (the signal from the phone masts block out the keyfob.)

Push the car round the corner or up the road a bit and try again.

not that i know of mate , all was fine this morning just tonight seems to be the prob ??

Sounds like your battery on the car is flat. Give it a charge if you can,plus disconnecting the battery may reset the alarm if it is that.

Read the threads in the elec section about STI batteries.

Mine was a flat bat.
