Hi m8, I've got an 05 WRX PPP SL so first hand experience.
Firstly the most obvious way of checking is the single Prodrive embossed exhaust, although it may have been changed, for an aftermarket one. There should also be a blue Samco pipe attached to the intercooler (can be parked Prodrive). These are the only obvious signs that the car has the PPP, the rest are based around the changed ECU.
If you contact Prodrive they have records of every car fitted with PPP so the Reg/VIN should match their records. Check with the dealer (assuming you bought it from a dealer - Keith Price or CVC, if you did ???) as to whether the kit was fitted by them, they should have it on their records.
Welcome to Scoobynet and drop in on the Wales section.
Cheers
Gareth
