Default short lived ownership!!

Hi, only my 98 classic turbo for a month now but just bought my current 'dream' car so this is gonna have to go. Going in this week to have the oil leak fixed, then a front end respray. Car has now developed a hesitation when accelerating hard?? any tips/hints/advice etc before my mechanic forces me to re-mortgage. Also abs light comes on as soon as i go over 70, scammer 5hitbag i got it from reckons its because the pads are not standard?? any ideas's?? cheers

The hesitation can be the boost control to stopo you blowing your turbo and engine.
If you are at say 40mph in 3rd then you **** your foot to the floor it will not give you full power. Try lifting your foot off the gas then plant it back on. If it doesnt work then its somthing else!

I had a similar thing on my classic when i bought it. was not so bad when gently accelerating but put the boot down and it stuttered and hesitated like a good 'un. Mine turned out to be the coil packs so bear that in mind!

your maf could be stuffed and you're getting fule cut. does the car come on boost then feel like u hit a brick wall? or is it just slow to pick up?

Light coming on cuz of non standard pads!! I smell bull sh**

new maf will cost about £80ish 2 min job to fit.

I would suggest with a new car,get it checked by a Dealer or preferably an Independant Subaru Expert to check safety aspects as well as the condition of car and then you can explore the performance with a safe mind that all is well and nothing is about to fall off and also hopefully some of the minor points can be fixed.
Can then enjoy your motoring
