Default How does the rear bumper fix to the chassis?

Evening all, ive had my car ( MY99 UK classic ) a week now and am enjoying every minute of ownership.

I decided to have a good look underneath it today ( like you do! ) and noticed that my rear bumper is barely held on, and by that i mean it moves from side to side. It doesnt come off when you pull it but theres enough give to cause concern.

I was wondering what the banging noise was that i was getting when going over a bump, its probably the rear bumper moving about.

Anyone got a workshop manual that can tell me how to fix it securely?

Thanks

Adam

the plastic is fixed to the frame with plastic poppers on the top edge and a few (4) underneath.
The main frame is held on by four larger bolts bolted through the chassis rails from underneath (one side the bolts go through the towing eye)

veiw from laying on your back right chassi rail

left chassis rail

right arch

these photos might help 3 bolts in each chassis rail and bolts inside archies need to unplug number plate lights and fog light if fitted
cheers kip

Fantastic mate, thanks for going to the effort of taking the photos.

Much appreciated

Ive got my car booked into my mates garage on friday afternoon, to get the car up onto his ramps and have a good look.

At least i know what areas to look at now.

Thanks again
