Shall I or Shan't I?
Hi!
Newbie here! I've come over from SIDC, and hoping you can help?
At present I am selling my Mitsubishi Pajero, and hoping to become the proud owner of a Scooby, and then join you guys on meets etc...something I have missed!
Anyway... I have found a nice looking Scooby, and after speaking to the owner, we may do a PX. His is up for £4995 and mine is up for £3995, both descibed our cars as in good condition (I have just spent nearly £2k this year to keep it on the road...diesel pump, brakes, joints etc)
Now he has said we can px, and I give £2k, but I'm not sure. I am thinking yes, but want to make sure I'm not done, so is an RAC check worth it? I will do an HPI, no doubt about that!
Here is a link to his car, tell me what your first thoughts are...
'98 WRX
I'm really nervous about getting a new car, as I don't want to get done, and end up worse off, and the problem is I have no experience with Scoobys, only with RS Turbos and Cossies, so being turbo, is it basically the same sort of things to look out for...boost dropping, blue smoke when started etc??
Any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated!!!
Many Thanks

If the guy's genuine then I can't see why you can't both meet up at a respected independent specialists and you pay for 1 hour of their time to inspect the car thoroughly. If all's well then do the deal, if there's anything unexpected brought to light you can either negotiate or walk. If the guy won't entertain the idea then he may have something to hide.
