Default Recommendations for Japanese Import Agent?

Hi
I'm selling my BMW M5 and looking to go back to Subarus. I would like to import myself from Tokyo and hence would use a Japanese agent to do the buying from the auction and handle paperwork/delivery to the docks.
A: Does anyone have any independent! recommendations or advice.
B: Is it still worth going down the import route rather than just buying in the UK?

Thanks in advance.

Import black classics rule

I have no idea about importing or buying a car.

Make sure you get a reputable dealer and try and speak to people who have bought off them before.

I've heard paperwork, etc can be a ba$tard so watch out and you may find one that is already over here, so look here before you try there

Id avoid Tokyo; cars are significantly dearer there. A good agent is like a golden goose; youre more likely to find an importer wholl share his wife than share his agent.....

its true that the paperwork and sourcing/language barrier can be mental as i am in the motor trade and have brought in my type ra and my last car (an r33 gtst ) in aug 2005 . the best thing to do is get hold of someone like jurgen (find him on the mlr and skyline forum) and ask him. he has a good reputation . you will pay about a grand more than doing it yourself(depending on negotiated fees) but wont have to go to japan etc. mine came from nagoya (i think) as some places are quicker to export than others. its a bit of a minefield without experience. best of luck rab.
