Default Best place to sell a Scooby?

I'm trying to sell my car without much luck and would like to know the best place to sell a modified car? I've got it advertised on here and most of the other Subaru forums and piston heads I've had some interest but really would like to shift it sooner rather than later as I've got my eye on another car.

Any advice appreciated.

Could give it a go but a few people i know have never had much luck with auto trader other than people phone you up to tell you they have people waiting to buy your car if you sign up with their agency.

Sold two in the last year... basically unless it's under priced you'll struggle to sell any where I lost ££s on mine as i had to get rid before the MY06 arrived.

Imaculate MY98 PPP for less than £4k

try going round a few car dealers mate. they always sell scoobys for loads more than private so if its a genuine standardish one i would give it a try.

I know what your saying Tony but 4 k wouldn't pay for half of the engine rebuild i know you never get any of your money back when modifying a car but there must be someone somewhere that know what these cars are worth?

Unfortunately mate it's far from standard, they either wouldn't want it because it's modded or wouldn't know what half the stuff was.

It's tough, especially a modded one. Good luck tho, it's more of a right place right time to get decent money for these at the moment.

I even tried eB*Y with the MY98PPP, didn't sell on there either (strange when some early jap **** boxes went for more than 4k).

There is, and they do .............................

Price is ALWAYS the clincher - with all things.

The 'right' price today could be the 'wrong' price tomorrow ... it all depends who is looking. And people looking look EVERYWHERE they can (they do not just limit their search to AutoTrader if they are serious!).

To attract a buyer you must be offering something someone wants at the price the market will pay .... a modified Impreza is not, sadly for you, the most desirable of items on the used car market.

People are seeking that unmolested model, that one owner, never thrashed example that is as rare as hens teeth ............... now, if you had one of those, you would be fighting buyers off!!

Some people would have read it differently and said I was having a 'pop' at your car ............. I'm glad you have taken it in the constructive way it was meant (glad to see real men on here rather than the usual bunch of cry-baby pansies!)

Good luck with the sale mate - really mean that!

What utter tripe!!!

NO-ONE wants to take on someone elses mods!! Too many questions:-

1. Has it been done correctly?

2. Who did it?

3. It has been thrashed, or why extract more power?

4. Has it been serviced properly?

Nah ................ a modded car is an unwanted car

Try Ebay,

I have sold two cars on ebay, each for the price I wanted. As long as you write a good advert, with some good pictures and a reasonable price you're laughing.
There are so many s**t cars out on ebay, a good one stands out a mile.

To be fair, I think its more to do with setting a realistic price. I sold my WRX on Scoobynet (modded) the first day I advertised it.
