Does anyone know wat dump valve i need so when you let off you can sort of hear the turbo spinning as the dump valve releases the air.......its a bit like tish_ish_ish_ish!!!!!!!! rather than just a big tissssssssshhhhhhhh if you know what i mean. This post must look so stupid but i think you`l know what im on about???!!!

 

Do you mean the rally car chatter type sound?

 

It's wastegate flutter. Having said that, please don't bother?

exactly, its compressor surge/stall whatever you want to call it.

 

Cheers guys, think my best bet is to ask the person who`s car ive heard wat valve it is! Theres that many ive not a clue! Was told its a piston ram dump valve then told its a closed loop dump valve but still not sure?

 

like i said hks ssqv its the one ive got and its about the closest your get to the rally chatter with out fittin external waste gate and a load of other stuff

Blank off your dump valve fit an induction kit and tell me what you hear!

 

I get the exact same sound from mine with just a Forge twin piston DV. It is not the dump valve though. In my case, the dv cannot dump all the air in the fmic quickly enough so it travels back towards the turbo, through the blades and out the induction kit. Thats the annoying noise you can hear

 

already done cause i dont personally like vta dump valves (which was fitted to mine when i had the fmic)

 

I had a baileys piston dump valve on my GTi-R and that made like a double noise like you were after, rather than one big woosh. Dunno if that helps...

 

Or spend £50K on a proper rally car and have the noise for free?
