Default Help Please!!

I have an 02 STi, which I think is non prodrive. But I have just received my insurance renewal and it states clearly WRX STi Prodrive bla bla. I am confused as it hasn`t got blue dials etc. Can anybody enlighten me?
Apparently the vehicle was registered as above with the DVLA.
Model Code is GDBBKEH.
Sorry For Being A Pain, I just need some help!

this may be a daft reply but are you mistaking ppp and prodrive.
you may have the prodrive style model. has it got large rear fin, different front bumper etc... just a thought.

The PPP is a performance upgrade not a styling set like the prodrive kit. As is stated the car does not have the blue dials associated with the Prodrive kit.
Does the car have a blue hose going from the turbo then under the intercooler? If so it may be that you have the PPP kit fitted and there is a clerical error in that they say prodrive and not PPP. Juyst a thought.

if you haven't got blue dials as you have stated then i doubt its an sti prodrive style. if you have declared ppp on the car to the insurers it might be just a clerical error by someone who dosen't know the differance. just the sort of error that could cause you problems if you have a prang..

Well just looked, no blue hose. The exhaust is the STi branded one. Bigger rear wing, oh yes. I thought that the vehicle had to be registered properly through the DVLA, erm? Should I query this with my insurers? Cos I don`t want to be paying more than I have been as we all know insurance on Scoobys isn`t that cheap. And also if some numpty backends me or sommat like, I don`t want my policy void

I eagerly await your response Ladies and Gentlemen.

You don't know whether its an sti?
If you havn't got a red inlet manifold, sti central rev counter, sti seats etc etc.........Its not an sti!
Pics will help us confirm this.

Yup I know its an STi, red manifold etc, branded seats etc. All I was asking was there is no evidence that the car is PPP`d or Prodrive style. But my insurance renewal clearly states WRX P/Drive STi UK. I know I`m a pain, but just need this clearing up.

Mine is a Prodrive style which according to Directline was £80 cheaper to insure than a standard STI. If you have the curved smooth fog lamp covers then thats another clue to the prodrive. If you post a pic up we can all answer it instantly.

Ok I found this in another post which helped sort out which model I had - http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ivepics018.jpg Dont know how to make it clicky but this was posted by Turbotits and is a Prodrive style. On mine it's stated on the V5 and qualified me for insurance reduction over the standard STI.

Hope this helps - thanks to Turbotits for the use of the pic (nice shine by the way)

As Sewer Rat said, I think its a clerical error by the insurers as I have dug out my V5 and it doesn`t state Prodrive on the model type. So thats that solved.
Also when I bought the car I asked wether it had PPP and they said NO.
So basically its a clerical error. I did declare the mods tho, larger rear spoiler, splashguards and limited edition wheels.
Do I have a case for a refund on the excess that I may have paid?

Really sorry for being a pain

My V5 stated Prodrive - meaning style not having the PPP fitted. In my case the Pro-drive style was cheaper to insure than a normal STI but when I spoke to the nice lady there she said you should insure it as it states on the V5. Did you look at the pic i linked to? Does yours have the same front bumper? If yes then I suspect its a Pro-drive style, if not then I guess its a normal STI.

P.S I dont see your grounding for a refund - doesnt appear as though you have paid more than you should??

Thanks Andy for clearing that up for me.

Will post pics up soon. Got Photobucket but having a bit of trouble transferring them at the moment. I`m not even going to start another thread about this one.

I`ll keep on trying though!!!!
