BAD DAY!
#1
Leaving the house today I met my sisters boyfriend coming the other way on a blind bend up my drive. We both swerved the same way to avoid each other as the drive was very wet and slippery. Result was bad damage to my cars front end but not much to his Landrover. Pictures are here:

Bad Luck mate!
Not that this is going to cheer you up but I've just had my front bumper replaced and sprayed & this alone cost £500!
Reckon you're in for a couple of grand with the bonnet and wing as well.
But on the bright side it could be worse; the son of someone I know managed to drive his mother's car into his father's car on their drive - a true double whammy!!

I was expecting a cracked headlight lense and a couple of scratches or slight dents on the bonnet and bumper. I can tell you that it is going to be very expensive to fix.Any radiater damage or to the windscreen washer bottle? I would assume that both of you would swerve left, out of the path of the oncoming vehicle. One of you must have been going at a rate on knots as well though.

CJEN,
As Landy insurance is very cheap, I'm sure it would be best if the Landy driver lost his NCB rather than you. Arrange to claim on his insurance, even if you split his loss of NCB. I'm sure you thought of this already, but I thought I'd mention it anyways.
Jerome.
PS: Failing that, just claim your sister is preggers and that him taking the blame will exonerate him from maintenence payments.
PPS: If you both went right, you would of missed each other - pedantic to point it out, but someone had to.

Thanks for the replys and advise. The insurance has already been notified not exactley sure what has been said as my dad spoke to them (he is one of my dads friends).
Yes if we both went right we would have avoided each other(but he would be in a hedge), it was my right his left, sorry was not thinking.

Had a similar shunt in May - cost £1800 to repair, but front end damage didn't even displace radiator, and only 1 headlight and fog light was bust.

Craig sorry that your cars out of action, I know your drive and I can say that that crash was unadvoidable, the dammage looks v-bad but remmeber you have an aluminium bonnet which crumples easily.
If you want a bit of intresting reading while your off the road read Autocars October issue, S3 new imp & 4 motion, the S3 dosn't win but the its very close, agian driver feed back letting down the audi. 'Shame about the colour as well'
Speak to u later

Kevin the drive is very narrow and lined with bushes and trees on the left. When we realised there was no chance of stopping we both went right. The radiator has been pushed back, the washer bottle is damaged, the battery was cracked and leaking everywhere so i dont know how many other things are broken. Believe it or not we were not going that fast it is just that it was head on and the Landrover has big metal bars on the front.

I have extremely similar damage. $4600 USD is the current estimate. I'll be upgrading to an STi Type V front end and STi aluminum hood. Hooray! And, insurance is paying for it because they considered autocross an instructional event!
