Default Knocking noise at rear

I have an 05 wrx import , recently I have noticed a knocking noise in the rear when I'm carrying passengers, anybody got any suggestions to what it might be. Is there a common fault with this car that I'm not aware of .

Thanks

Alright mate i have a 05 WRX SWRT import from malta and i noticed this after a while if i had a passenger on the back left seat i don`t often have passengers so don`t know if still doing it but have been told that it is prob the rear shocks that are gubbed, if im right 05 wrx has inverted struts like the sti and they`re have been probs with them but they will be re[laced under warrenty without issue. Pm me if you want. Spaceman

as said above rear shocks a very common problem , if it's a wagon though the headlining flexing is another known problem that produces an annoying knock .

had same problem with my 94 wrx import. one of the shocks was soft and leaking fluid which was causing the shock to knock when driving over rough roads and pot-holes etc. got em replaced and the noise went!!!! got shocks for about 50 quid each (was cheap coz my mate works for parts company and gets discount!) cost me £100 to get em fitted. hope this sheds some light!

Sounds like the same problem I've got. Rear shocks seize and release giving a v pleasant clunking sensation when pulling away etc. I hope you have more luck getting it done under warranty than I`ve had. The fault on mine was picked up over 4 months ago and I`m still waiting to get my warranty honoured ( 04Sti from Malta ). Currently taking legal advice !
