I've searched for this & found FA ...

The JDM's seem to be "better" than the UK STi's when you compare them year on year ie 2005 JDM STi vs 2005 UK STi. When did the quick steering rack, twin scroll turbo, HID lights and DCCD come in ie which model year? Reason for asking is that a JDM STi is on the cards for me & I don't want to get one that hasn't got the above.

Oh & I will get a test drive at some point, just looking for advice at the mo.

q.s.r and HID Xenon light as early as version 7 JDM sti. Twin scroll turbo and DCCD came along on v8 and above.

Do all the version 7's have the QSR & HID? Ditto the versions 8's ie TST & DCCD? Sorry if it's a daft question!

MY05 STis have the Spec C steering rack and geometry, available from June/July 04 onwards. I believe all have DCCDand TST. AndyC_772 (or similar) on here has one for sale through Iain Litchfield.

I forget exactly which features came in which models - all the features you mention have been available on the JDM car for a few years. The MY05 certainly has them all plus the new interior, more powerful engine and Spec C chassis - but you probably knew that already.

My car is still indeed sitting in Litcho's showroom - the price has come down now too.

I can only speak for the v7. The HID was an option. The highest spec GL model came with HID, Suretrac LSD and Rear privacy glass.
