Default FUEL PROBLEM

CAN YOU PLEASE HELP MY FUEL LIGHT IS COMIN ON EVEN THOUGH MY GAUGE IS SHOWING 1/4 OF A TANK FOUND OUT THE HARD WAY THE OTHER NIGHT THAT THE LIGHT MEANS ITS EMPTY SO WHY DOES MY GAUGE SHOW 1/4 OF A TANK AND WHEN I FILL THE CAR IT MOVES SLIGHTLY?

If you run down your fuel until the fuel light comes on, then you only put - say - a tenner's worth of fuel in, the fuel light will stay on, even if the gauge reads 1/4 of a tank. You need to stop being a cheapskate and fill 'er up.

Also, you have your caps. lock on and it's making me deaf.

The sensors are not particularly linear.

But sounds like your sender is sticking or the gauge on the dash is sticking (mechanical type ?).

Try filling to max, then watch it as it falls. Does it run down as you would expect then stick at 1/4


Oh, and DONT SHOUT !!!!
