Default GOODBYE TO UK300,HELLO TO STI 05

just picked up my 05 plate sti from an non subaru dealer at a great price, car seems to be going great so far, my only consern is the rear tyres seem to be more worn on the outer half of the tyre, not by much, but has anyone had this before, the car is running on bridgestones with two new tyres on the front and the rear with about 5mm on.

i went from a uk300 to a jdm sti - much better all round car. I've had a bit of suspension work through powerstation so have only really known these settings. Well worth getting your tracking done as a minimum. They leave the factor with the geometery of a shopping trolley!

thanks, car is due a service in about 1500 miles so i ll get them to check out the rear struts, is this common for them to last such a short time? as for performance and handling(even if the rear struts are f**ked)the car is just so good .

i thought the suspension failures had been sorted on the 05 with the different suspension?

oh, and get the best tyres on the back. if the front starts to wander it's no worries if the back goes there'll be a big bang!

enjoy i'm loving mine

Maybe the rears have been swapped around with the fronts... would explain the wear - roundabout tyres??

You haven`t said what mileage is on the car. Are the rear tyres the 070s? I`ve only done 5k and my front tyres look worn on the outer edges but I think its just to do with the tread pattern. If its your struts you will hear a knocking noise, I had this problem on my 03 STI but never noticed a tyre wear problem to go with it! Best to get the alignment checked at the service for peace of mind.

Hope you enjoy your new car. Is it standard and do you have plans for it?

Also once you've got the PPP and tracking, etc sorted go to Toyo T1-S or T1-R tyres and thank me later
