Bugeye WRX to ???
Hi guys thinking of swapping my Bugeye WRX but not sure what to ,shortlisted are 2000/2001 P1 or an '02-'04 Sti.
Which would be the best option all round ??
Would appreciate any and all comments on this please.

You could live with a P1 everyday if you like it. not a harsh drive and much more focused than the new ones. A proper drivers cars compared to this new rubbish
Alternatively you could go for the pinnacle of subaru's engineering and get an RB5

I went from a bug wrx to a blob sti and its a much much better car.
I did look at a P1 but the 16k asking price put me off for Y reg car.
End of the day i'm glad i went for the blob as its a good all round car.

A blobyeye every time, looks to die for, stunning performance and They are alot safer than the classic!, They can be had for a song now too, The new hawk/**** eye really are a love or hate point of view but the big question mark for many is over the 2.5 engine,
The best value i can suggest would be 2004 STI PPP with 20K on the clock for £16K, £700 on a remap and you have a 330bhp/325lbft bargain.......

I was in the same boat as you a a month back...
P1 or STI 03 plate...
After lots of research...i Love the P1's but near 70% of the ones i had seen for sale had there engines rebult...very debatable however i did not want to spend £13K on a car that may or may not blow up afew months down the line (just not worth for me to take the risk...they do say take of the car and it will last... however i refuse to believe all the P1 owners who have had to have there engines changed did not look after their cars...
The other problem was that it is a old car...and there can be more wrong with it..unless you know what you are looking for etc (repaire / engine)..you could end up with a pipe of kak!...
My STI 03...where shall i start..
Its newer, looks great (in black smooth ride not bumpy lumpy etc...and it being a newer car its more upto date...i think anyhow..
P1's still a good looking classic though..just old now...and will require more money to be thworn at it in the long run..

As cash is a little tight at the mo was thinking maybe a blob Wrx instead , how much of an upgrade from the bug in drivability terms are they. I know BHP is similar but are there any significant chassis and suspension upgrades to make it worthwhile.
Cheers for all your help in advance

Chris, I had a similar choice to make a few months ago and decided to mod my current car. I have a 02 UK WRX which I've owned from new. I got offered £7500 part ex against an 04 STI . So I thought why sell I know the history of my car and with some cash spent I'll have a car that I'm happy with.
Your choice mate, Wolfie.

I wouldn't mind a either a bugeye or blob sti ,simply can't find a nice one locally ,and it needs to be a dealer so i can p/ex my wrx as i can't be without a car, by the way the fq-300 deal fell through so i'll just keep looking.
Cheers
