Default Auto Box

Hi All, I have just bought a MY96 WRX import with an automatic box. Everything is fine and I go the car at a great price, it is pretty mint.

The one thing that I am confused about is that there is a button behind the Auto box selector gate and i cannot work out what it does.

It is not the auto/manual switch and it is not the power switch either. It pushes down and pops back up and does not appear to do anything.

Can any one shed any light on this.

Thanks in advance

Jason

Hi

This has been cover a number of times, try the search button next time;

That button allows you to move the lever without the engine running (ie: if you need a tow, press that button and place the lever on Neutral)

on a leveled surface, put your hand brake up and with the engine off try to move the lever..... and then try again pushing that button.

hope this helps

Thought it was for snow mode in imports. Does a light appear in dash when you push it and it shouldn't pop back up either. I've had MY96 import but i may be wrong. You defiantly feel a difference when you press it in like the engine take away some of the power.
Have fun mine was an auto box as well they don't half move and give you plenty of throw back when you put your foot down enjoy.
