I love the paragraphs:-
"Whatever the reason, there's a distinct sense of embarrassment that comes with edging into the rush-hour gridlock in the latest electric blue, be-spoilered Scoob. So this understated version - 'spec D' stands for discreet - seemed like the answer to a few unspoken prayers.
It's a very simple solution to an obvious problem. The STI is a stunningly quick and arguably quite practical car that does itself few favours by looking, through a process of negative cultural osmosis and boot spoilers, like the poster boy for the criminal underclass"
Says it all really ................... the Chav Impreza is dead long live the Intelligent Impreza!!
You Rally Wannabbees, Chavs and ***** have had your day ... make way for the sophisticated owners to take control and drag the image of the Impreza up from the gutter where the modifying boys have sent it!!

Morning Pete,
I felt quite good edging into rush hour traffic in my MY99 this morning, gold wheels and all. I'd like to say that I could see other peoples' reactions, but I have a large "Engerrrrland" flag drapped across my back and side windows! I couldn't hear any verbal protestations from others over my big exhaust, loud stereo and on account of the fact that I was leaning out of the window yelling:
"GET OUTTA THE WAY YA F**KING ****" interspersed with "ROOOOOONEEEEY"
Leaving my car, I glanced back over my shoulder and paused for a moment to reflect on the impact of the car's asthetics (i.e. big spoilers, neons and stickers) on other motorists.
"F**k em", I thought as I donned my Burberry cap and entered the DSS!!
Long live the classic saloon; the choice of the real man!
Good day to you sir!

Classic driver here.
Anyone want to swap my STi sized spoiler for the standard boot lid one. (It came with the car)
Sorry - exhaust is big but £200 from eBay rather than £800 from Miltek it was a bargain - even though I only wanted the down pipe.
Thankfully it's silver
1 more thing Subaru should do for the 'Spec D' is fit a FMIC as standard and get rid of the child swallowing bonet scoop.

I think the usual fully-chaved up Impreza is obviously for chav's and criminals, but take off all the max-power bits and you are just left with a VERY boring and dull looking car. Not for intelligent owners.... just for cheapskates with no taste!
I'd rather be classed as a chav - if youre going to have one at all, you might as well do it properly

I agree with the gold wheels which come standard on the newage sti's being abit OTT. But i actually like the big spoiler and the general look of the vehicle. I'm not a chav but I would find the spec D a little too sheltered.

The problem with the Spec 'D' is that every boy racer in town will want a burn up at the lights, as they will think you are in a standard WRX instead of an STi. Will end up causing more attention than a standard one.
